The Ministry of Home Affairs recently conducted the IB ACIO Tier 1 exams on 18th, 19th, and 20th February 2021. Around 2000 vacancies were available to be filled for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer at the Investigation Bureau. Here are all the updates you need to know about this exam.

About IB ACIO Exam

IB ACIO exam is a yearly exam conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to fill vacant posts of Asst. Central Intelligence Officer at the intelligence bureau. This is one of the most reputable jobs one can do, this is a tough test to go through, and people from across India appear in this exam. This exam is a three-tier exam, the breakdown as follows –


Type of Exam

 Tier – I

Online Multiple Choice Questions Type Exam of 100 Marks

Tier – II

Descriptive Type Paper of 50 Marks

Tier – III

Interview for 100 Marks


 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this exam, candidates need to have a graduate degree or equivalent with compulsory knowledge of computers and shall be within the age group of 18-27. The age limit is relaxed for SC/ST and other reserved castes.

About MHA IB ACIO II Exam Tier I Result

The MHA IB ACIO II Exam Tier I Result date is yet to be released, but it is expected to be around late March 2021. Let us take a look at the timeline of the exam. –

On 15 December 2020 the notification for the exam was released by the Ministry of Home Affairs about the conduct of IB ACIO exam 2021, and on 19th of December application forms were released, for which the last date was 9th of January. The fee for the application form was Rs. 100/-. 18th, 19th, and 20th February were the exam dates announced, and the admit cards were made available to the candidates on the 15th of February 2021. After the exam took place, the answer key was released just four days later, and now the candidates await the result.

When announced, there were 2000 vacancies available. Different numbers are reserved for different castes, here’s the breakdown.

The cut-off for IB ACIO 2021 is supposed to be announced with the result, but when the notification was announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, they announced the passing marks too. To qualify, Candidates from the Unreserved Category require a minimum of 35/100, while for OBC and EWS it is 34/100 and for SC/ST it is 33/100.

  • For the OBC category 66%-70%
  • For the SC category 55%-60%
  • For the ST category 55%-60%

 To check your IB ACIO result follow the given steps :

  3. A new webpage will open and it will ask you for the Login ID.
  4. Enter your ID and Password
  5. A new webpage with the result will appear.
  6. Download and check your IB ACIO 2021 result.
